At Draycott Engineering based in Didcot, we love anything with an engine. They are constantly working on their own random projects after work and on weekends. Our staff at Draycott engineering, even after a long shift, have been staying late after work for a little over a week to build their own pick up truck. Chris Gregory and Nathan Grant have been spending many hours on this little project. All our staff at draycott engineering have loved watching this project unravel. Even when our staff's batteries are dead, Chris likes shocking them back into action. Nathan has said “it was the worst electric shock he's ever had, Chris just sat there crying with laughter.” After walking into a wire Chris had not finished working with. Draycott Engineering Vs Banger Racing

New Here at Draycott Engineering in Didcot, we love banger racing. Nathan (manager) has been racing for 16 years and Kieran (mechanic) has been racing for 10 years.

They have been working on their bangers after work and on weekends to get them race ready. Banger racing is a tarmac, dirt, shale and chalk track type of motor sport event which is popular in many countries such as Ireland, Belgium, United kingdom and the Netherlands. Scrap vehicles that people spend many weeks preparing are raced against each other, with the winner being the first to reach the chequered flag after a number of laps. Banger racing was said to have started in the early 1960’s however the sports popularity exploded during the 1970’s and 1980s. The first ever title race was held at Wimbledon stadium in October 1974. It is now held in Ipswich which Draycott engineering sponsored Oris Korszewski who won the championship two years ago and held that for a year and also won the European championships in Belgium. Draycott engineering are also featured in two games one pc game called wreck fest and also an xbox one game called bangers unlimited which also featured a few of the vehicles that the guys built and raced here at Draycott engineering.
